Buffalo Chicken Dip Pull-Apart Bread

Ingredients:

For the Bread Dough:

  • 150g sourdough starter
  • 350g lukewarm water
  • 500g bread flour
  • 10g fine salt

For the Buffalo Chicken Dip Filling:

  • 1.5 large cans of chicken breast (drained and shredded)
  • 0.5 packet of ranch seasoning
  • 8 oz whipped cream cheese
  • Handful of shredded Mexican cheese (about 1 to 1.5 cups)
  • Ranch dressing (to taste)
  • Frank’s Buffalo Sauce (to taste)

For the Topping:

  • Additional buffalo sauce (for drizzling)
  • Additional ranch dressing (for drizzling)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Bread Dough:

    • In a large bowl, combine the sourdough starter and lukewarm water. Stir to dissolve the starter.
    • Gradually add the bread flour and salt to the mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
    • Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a cloth, and allow it to rise in a warm place for 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
  2. Make the Buffalo Chicken Dip Filling:

    • In a large bowl, combine the shredded chicken, ranch seasoning, whipped cream cheese, shredded Mexican cheese, ranch dressing, and buffalo sauce. Mix until well combined. Adjust the amount of ranch and buffalo sauce to your preferred flavor and spice level.
  3. Shape and Stuff the Bread:

    • Preheat the oven to 450°F (230°C). Grease a baking dish (or line it with parchment paper).
    • Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out into a rectangle.
    • Cut the dough into squares (roughly 2-3 inches per square).
    • Take each square of dough and stuff it with the buffalo chicken dip mixture, folding the dough around the filling to seal it.
    • Arrange the stuffed dough squares in the prepared baking dish, ensuring they are close together but not overcrowded.
  4. Bake the Bread:

    • Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
    • After 35 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 17 minutes (or 15 minutes for a slightly less browned top) until golden and the bread is fully cooked through.
  5. Finishing Touches:

    • Once the bread is baked, drizzle additional buffalo sauce and ranch dressing on top.
    • Serve warm and enjoy!

Tips:

  • You can easily adjust the level of spice by adding more or less buffalo sauce.
  • If you want to make it extra cheesy, add more shredded Mexican cheese to the filling or top it with extra cheese before baking.
  • This bread is best served warm, and it’s perfect for a game day snack or party appetizer!
